In the Unknown Wilds, Elemental spirits discover a well of potent mana. As they clash about the Leyline, only one will amass the energy to claim dominance.

Make some Mania.

Mana Mania is a light set-collection card game with hand-management and drafting gameplay. Players collect colored cards matching their own elemental identity, which changes as they shift on a linear board called the Leyline. Across 6 rounds, they’ll burn, block, and freeze fellow players as they gather from a refilling Mana Pool. Utilize nine elements with unique playstyles and effects to sabotage other players' plans. In the end, only one spirit will amass enough energy to claim victory.

What’s a Leyline?

In Mana Mania, the nine Elements exist on a linear spectrum called The Leyline. This powerful path stretches from fiery Ignition to the waves of Torrent to empty and frigid Absence.

At the start of the game, each player is randomly assigned to an Element by drawing a card from the deck. This is their starting elemental identity, which will change as they shift on the Leyline during the game.

Your abilities are limited to your two neighboring elements on the Leyline, giving each element a unique playstyle to try as you travel the board.

What’s the Goal?

Across four-to-six rounds of Mana Mania, you’re trying to collect cards of a single element. Your choice isn’t locked in until the final round, so travel the Leyline as you please!

The top-right corner of each card shows how many points it’s worth. After the last round has ended, players count points from the cards in their hands. HOWEVER, you can only count points from cards that match your element on the Leyline.

Players must plan ahead and coordinate the cards they collect with their position on the board, ultimately ending with more points than any other player at the table.

What do I do? - GAMEPLAY ACTIONS

Each turn, a player has three actions to choose from. They can take each of these actions once, in any order they choose. They can choose to skip any or all of the actions, letting players flow through their turns as they please!

Swap a card from the Mana Pool with one in your hand.

The Mana Pool is a shared resource pool that refreshes each round. This is the primary method for acquiring new cards, so grab what you need while you can!

Discard any card from your hand. Move your marker on the Leyline to the element directly above or below. This becomes your new element.

Shifting is a key part of the game; Discard excess cards while reaching new elements for their powers or scoring!

Discard a card to use its effect. You can only use cards within your element’s Range. An element’s Range includes itself and any elements next to them on the Leyline.

Elemental actions bring the real excitement to Mana Mania. Each element has its own unique effect, meaning the cards you collect are also the powers you use. With each effect limited to a certain portion of the Leyline, half of the fun is juggling your position as you traverse the board.
